Very good Customer Service, Central Location, Near to Kings Cross Station, Good Breakfast
Very hard to fault the Montague Hotel. Clean, well furnished and extremely conveniently located. Staff attentive without being overbearing, overall excellent
I have stayed at The Montague many times, the service is always good and the standards very high
All staff members very helpful. Hotel spotlessly clean. Excellent food.
All the staff wer very friendly and helpful. Hotel next to the British Museum and within walking distance from most theatres. If you can book an up grade as the basic grade rooms are very small. Breakfast worth the investment. We have stayed here on a number of occasions and will return.
It has been a few year since I had been in London. A student, studying in Ireland and working in the summers in London and its surrounding districts, I could ill afford much then but, nevertheless had a wonderful time. Living in Australia now, the opportunity arose to spend 3 nights by myself, in London and did I pick the perfect hotel. They took care of me and catered for my every need. From a very comfortable room, the accommodating staff, to the concierge ensuring that my days and evenings were filled with culture and sporting events-----heaven. A perfect holiday and a perfect hotel. I hope I will be there again with the knowledge that I will not have to spend hours beforehand on the internet trying to book an event when the hotel has access to the best tickets in town.
The location, accomodation, facilites and food were all excellent. the staff could not do any more for you. We would recommend this hotel for anyone.
Great hotel, Staff make a real effort to make you feel welcome. Lovely touches in room and wonderfully peaceful night`s sleep. Can`t wait to return
Some minor isssues: a bit lax in leaving milk for tea. Housekeeper barged in without knocking on one occasion (or else she knocked so quietly i couldn`t hear). The doorman was officious and unpleasant on one occasion. I`d just flown for 24 hrs and was looking forward to a shower and sleep. As my room was not yet ready (I arrived early) they generously took my bags and I went to a coffee shop. When I returned to see if the room was ready the doorman stepped in front of me an barred my way, clearly sending the message that I didn`t belong. This left an unpleasant taste in my mouth.
On the whole well placed hotel for the usual weekend shopping.dining and shows. Staff very charming - welcome high standard - concierge very helpful / booked us a dinner res at a swish Indian - breakfast the best full english we`ve had in a London hotel. But sadly, although very well decorated and set out, room was so small we felt like Hagrid and Alice in Wonderland. (Bath tiny!!) Consider it expensive because of the size of the room we were allocated. Have stayed other places with larger rooms but less expensive.
quite supberb service by everyone concerned - a massive team effort - if i was a banker, they could all share my bonus!
thoroughly enjoyed our stay. staff very friendly and helpful.Room good size and clean.
I wanted a clean comfortable bed in a pleasant well priced hotel and that is exactly what I got.I look forward to returning to this part of London and will definitely rebooked the Montague
Only a one night stay but the attention to detail was excellent, the bedroom was bright and cheerful , not to sure about the mirrored bathroom shows the excesses from the dining room!!Breakfast was very good with first rate service, the welcoming feel to the whole hotel made our stay ,one to remember.
We had the pleasure of staying three nights at the Montague and a pleasure it was. There is not a single aspect that I could fault. It goes without saying that when you stay in London (and you are not a regular) being central is essential. The Montague is perfectly positioned in a quiet central area adjacent to the British Museum. When you are away from home it is the small things that make all the difference - the staff at the Montague do not miss a thing. From comfortable surroundings to advice on which bus you should take if there is a train stike. I truly believe that the Concierge staff would win medals if there were such a thing as a Concierge Olympics. A pity to be leaving really.
Great Hotel but check the type of room yoiu are getting and where it is situated - they vary tremendously and some are cramped and noisy.
Nice location
The staff who stood out were Gerhard and Christina. They made the wedding what it was, a wonderful occasion.
An old fashioned hotel with an up to date attitude. Very good
This is our 4th visit to the Montague and it never disappoints, in fact the rooms appear to have been recently re-decorated to an exceptionally high standard and the carpet in the hall was so luxurious it was like walking on cushions! The breakfast as ever was superb with unlimited fresh fruit and juice as well as the standard cooked breakfast. The staff couldn`t be friendlier, our only small gripe was the price of the drinks in the bar! We will definitely be returning as we are always guarenteed a luxurious and enjoyable stay when we want to treat ourselves (which isn`t often!)
Nice hotel very opulent staff very pleasant and helpful. Small problem trying to control the heating too hot or too cold.
The bed was made up with sheets designed for a doll`s house. No attempt had been made to tuck the sheets in and so as soon as we climbed into bed they immediately rumpled up, creating great discomfort. The saucer for one of the cups was a size too large, so the cup slithered around. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
My mum and I enjoyed our stay in the Montague, this was our first time staying there. The hotel is very convenient and the staff were very helpful and pleasant and we were always greeted with a smile. Had a fab weekend in London.
From the moment we stepped through the door, the service was superb, with the staff going above and beyond their duties to ensure we had a perfect stay. The room, although compact, was beautifully decorated and immaculate and clean. As it was our first anniversary, they gave us a card and heart shaped biscuits. They even turned down the beds and ran a petal filled bath with floating candles and sprinkled rose petals on our bed. Amazing.
Quite well run hotel convenient to the theatre and Royal Opera House. Struggles with breakfast as basically insufficient space and staff rushed off their feet
A group of loud noisy women spoilt what should have been a wonderful breakfast - but at least we now know their life histories !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ground floor toilets smelt of drains which became worse as the day progressed. A great shame because the decor was beautiful and they were very clean.
Hotel was first class. Anyone looking to stay in London should not overlook this hotel, it is must to stay. Was fully booked when stayed which is good testiment to the standard but yet the hotel never felt over crowded. Central to London, underground less then 5 mins walk (via Park).
The hotel was very clean, quiet and comfortable, with friendly staff anxious to help. The breakfast was particularly good, with fresh fruit of all sorts, including beautiful strawberries. The position, so close to the British Museum, could not have been more convenient.
Had a very enjoyable short stay. Hotel facilities are excellent and the staff made our stay a very pleasant experience. Did not sample the restaurant but the cooked breakfast was first class. The only niggles were in our double room. The sash window did not close properly, causing a lack of sound insulation at night. Also, the loo did not flush very well.
