This was a last minute booking and what a booking. The hotel was ideally placed for our visit to the Aviva Stadium for the football international. It was also well positioned for all the major attraction. The room was very comfortable and the entertainment in the bar on both the Friday and Saturday nights was superb. Breakfast was not included but was priced very reasonably and we all enjoyed what was on offer, either full Irish or a continental. The other meal we had in the bar was also fantastic both in price and in content. I would like to thank the staff for making our stay enjoyable and I look forward to making a return one day
Service in bar/restaurant very good. Staff. Friendly
Good breakfast. Comfortable and clean
The clean, large rooms and friendly staff are unfortunately underpinned by the location, which is 30mins walk from Temple Bar. Breakfast here is a great addition though!
Nice hotel ,helpful staff ,good breakfast, very reasonable rates ,enjoyed our stay.
room like a travel lodge, with small beds and a duvet that wouldn`t fit a kids bed
I recommend this hotel. Our room was very pleasant and a decent size. The breakfast was good and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. It is a decent walk in to the city centre but we like to walk so it was not an issue with us.
I stayed with my wife early Dec and we were both happy with the hotel. 20min walk to Grafton Street with Bars and eateries on the way. staff were friendly and helpful and the Hotel bar (gasworks) was reasonably priced (for Dublin).
We booked the hotel as our stay over to attend Top Gear Live on Saturday .Hotel was good ,but the service was poor at the Bar/Restaurant.We expected to have a meal and a drink before the show but there was no one tending the bar despite our waiting over 5 minutes. So we took our custom elsewhere.Other than this everything else was good.
The only complaint i had was the traffic noise at night.
We stayed for 1 night and found the rooms and hotel facilites very comfortable. All the staff were very friendly, We had a lovely stay. Thank you
Excellent stay lovely well kept rooms polite and helpfull staff food was a good standard. Would certainly stop again a quiet part just outside Dublin but not to far from the lively part of Dublin. Excellant all round.
we have just returned from a great weekend in Dublin, the hotel had excellant staff and our room was very clean and comfortable, I would highly recomend the Grand Canal Hotel.
Enjoyed our two night stay at the Grand Canal ,easily accessed from the airport and a good location for the city centre. Desk and waiting staff where very helpfull, will probably stay again.
Myself and 5 others stayed at the Grand canal for the weekend. The rooms were very clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful.. The full breakast was also a must.We had a great time and a lovely place to stay.
All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Couldn`t fault the rooms and there was a good choice of food at breakfast. The Gasworks pub next door also provided good meals at reasonable prices. This hotel is situated in a quiet area. Although there`s good public transport we chose to walk into Dublin`s centre taking the scenic route via the canal. The DART station is also close by. I would definitely chose to stay at this hotel again.
Comfortable hotel. Helpful friendly staff. Superb breakfast - we hardly ever needed anything until dinner. Bar food reasonably priced. We would be hard pressed to fault our 5-day stay.
Staff were very friendly and helpful! I was hoping the room would have a fridge and air conditioning but considering the very reasonable price, I was pleased with my stay. Plus there was a Salsa night on when we arrived so it was nice and lively with a great atmosphere!
The hotel was to a very high standard, really enjoyed my stay there and very impressed with all parts. Would highly recommend it to anyone. The little touches in the room made a very big difference.
The hotel was very good, all well decorated and clean. There is a nice bar/restaurant next door with direct access from the hotel which was friendly and served good food. The hotel staff were friendly and there was also the option to pay 15 Euros for a day pass at a local gym. We paid 96 Euros per night which is slightly on the expensive side but Dublin is an expensive city and there was also a Take That concert on which probably inflated the price. Overall would definitely recommend this hotel
Use the DART situated opposite the hotel for the most efficient travel to and from the city and local sites.
For our requirements in Dublin, the hotel is in a good location, away from the city centre crowds, but near enough to be in easy reach of good transport links into the centre of Dublin (i.e. DART service) and to/from Dublin Airport (i.e. AIRCOACH service). All the hotel staff that we have encountered (since our first stay in 2006) have been and continue to be very helpful and friendly. From our experience, the facilities and service are far better than comparable hotels in the UK, but there again I am commenting upon a hotel in the Republic of Ireland. Finally, we have booked at the hotel (through your organisation) for further visits to Dublin in July and September of this year. Regards, T E Jermy
I think it was unfair to charge for extra parking when paying to stay at your hotel. We spent quite a lot of money for bed and breakfast and to be charged six euro`s for 2 hours parking was a bit off. I would think twice about re-booking because of this although the hotel was really nice and the room was lovely.
Really nice hotel, friendly helpfull staff pleasant surroundings within 15 minute walk from Grafton Street. Would certainly use this hotel again.
lovely hotel, food excellent, room nice but no bath, good half hour walk from the main centre, but would stay there again
as above ,i would like to say the service was good and prompt.would use the hotel again.to get into Dublin was no problem , there is the train service just 50 mtrs away, takes 5mins and your into town.
It was my first visit to Dublin and this hotel was in a perfect location. It was only a 5 minute bus ride to the city centre. The staff were just lovely and always happy to help and our room was gorgeous. We really enjoyed breakfast, but the rest of the menu needs a little more varierty. We would definately stay there again
I would recommend this hotel as a clean and comfortable base outside the city centre. The only drawback back is the distance from the centre, which is 25 mins walk, rather than the 15 mins advertised on the intranet.
thanks to all the helpful staff especially all on front desk who could not do enough for you.
ok decor perhaps a bit spartan....
My husband and I have travelled the Americas, Australia, Asia and Europe and we consider this hotel with 3 stars to be outstanding for customer service, cleanliness, locality wasn`t bad either in walking distance to centre but bus and rail was nearby. Breakfast was excellent too.
