I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Excellent service, comfortable room, good food and bar. A most relaxing place to stay.
Location is superb - staff very helpful and polite. However it would depend upon the premium for a larger room before I would stay again.
All good well worth the money spent, great location for central London.
The staff were really attentive and we couldn`t have wished for a more luxurious hotel - we loved the TV in the bathroom. Couldn`t be closer to a tube station if it tried, and so well placed for London attractions. Would stay there again in an instant.
1. I have been charged twice for breakfast once by Hotel Direct and once by hotel, please advise2. Guest bill is confusing drinks are labelled as food??3. lack of disabled access4. lift area to congested5. restuarant to humid6. Value for money rating 3/10
very impressed by quality of hotel. Staff very helpful and room wonderful.
A nice above average Hotel with very good facilites, very good position for Covent Garden area, nightlife and restaurants. Only comment lots of large building work going on to ajoining premises.
Rooms clean and bright with good standard of decor - bed very comfortable. Bathroom of good standard, however the lighting for make-up was very poor and there was no shower cap. Full breakfast was good but spoilt by providing cold plates.
I would have no hesitation in comming back to the hotel and would certainly recommend it to anyone
Our second visit this year. Hotel is wonderfully located for easy walking access everywhere! Staff are helpful, very polite and look happy. Beautiful room (no view, but who needs one?) Had a great time.
Otherwise a really lovely hotel
Arrived at Royal Horseguards to hear from the reception that I`d been upgraded!Fantastic, I hear you say.Not really, the only reason they upgrade to these rooms is due to the fact there is no, and I really mean no view. The window looks out onto the internal service area. So, if you are offered an upgrade, be careful, sometimes all that glitters is not gold!Otherwise it was ok.
Me and my wife stayed at the horseguards for 2 nights over the weekend, and our aim was to stay in a top notch hotel which was close to all of the main attractions London had to offer. We were not dissappointed! The horseguards was within a stones throw from the millenium bridge, the houses of parliment as well as giving great views of the London eye and county hall. We were also within a 10 minute walk of Chinatown and trafalger square. The hotel itself was traditionally majestic, looking like a chateau of the highest quality, but also providing those extra modern facilities, such as bathroom tv, under floor heating and bathrobes, slippers, plasma with freeview etc. I would definately recommend this hotel to a friend or family member.
Excellent hotel all round. great location. Breakfast not so good. a battle to even get hot coffee and toast without asking repeatedly for it. Would expect better than paper napkins in a 5 star hotel
On booking in, I was asked if for an extra £20 if I wanted to upgrade to a river view, We agreed and were given room 513. It was a lovely room but all we could see were trees! This should have been sold as a river facing room NOT a river view. However, on a mention to the desk staff they offered room 813 which was perfect. A lovely view of the river 3 floors up from the previous room. The staff were very helpful and it was no problem to move rooms. The room was a good size and furnished well. The bathroom was good too and it was all very clean and welcoming. We had drinks in the Terrrace bar which was very nice and the staff were efficient and friendly. I would definitely stay at this hotel again due to its proximity to Covent Garden a 10 minute stroll and the same for Westminster going the other way along the embankment.
Hotel room needs window that you can open and see out of so as you can tell if its day or night and have a view, the bar in the hotel needs to be better equipped with more variety of beer and cocktails, other than the above i would highly recommend this hotel, very relaxing surrounds and quirky little extras in room such as ipod connection with surround music and bathroom floor heating.
Stayed this time with our 2 daughters - one double, one twin. The double we had was smaller than the double we had first time round. It only had a shower room, no bath - the room was small and the shower door opened on to the bathroom door.. The mirror in the bedroom was too high to see when sitting down to dry my hair - these little things matter! The girls room was lovely though .... Sunday morning breakfast was a bit of a chore. Not enough tables but the staff worked hard to avoid having anyone wait longer than 15 minutes. Rather feel a 5* Hotel should offer table service. We will stay again though as the Hotel is in a fab location is clean and have an excellent team of staff
We came to london to watch a show and wanted somewhere nice to stay. We wasnt dissappointed. The Royal horseguards is a fantastic base for all the sights in london. The hotel and staff are excellent. The rooms are well equiped and have everything you need. Love the shower. had a Tv in it. I would Recomend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in london. Fantastic.
Well worth a stay. Staff very pleasant and attentive. Good position in London and clean bright and pleasant rooms. Breakfast very good. Good to have free internet access in room-quite rare in hotels in my experience. Not so good points--gym a small room with apparently no air conditioning and one running machine not working--no double glazing in our room so noisy from outside. Worst point was small double bed. was it really a double size? Certainly not a king size as you would expect in a 5* hotel
While the hotel was in a good position and offered good accommodation we felt it was more of a 4 star than a 5 star. The room was excellent but the breakfast was very disappointing. There were paper napkins instead of linen napkins usually found in 5 star hotels, the orange juice was the cheap concentrated variety rather than fresh juice. While the pats of butter looked pretty when tasted - it was clearly low quality butter or some horrible substitute - something not usually found in 5 star establishments. We also had a cream tea and while the scones were good the bread was very doughy and again the revolting cheap butter or subsitute. The service for the tea was excellent. If the Royal Horseguards could sort out the catering I would certainly recommend. Another warning - do not order a glass of Pimms as very expensive. Four normal glasses of Pimms and we were charged £46. It would have been much cheaper to have a bottle of wine.
Hotel reception was well staffed and the staff were very polite. Room was excellent. Robes, slippers, tv in shower. Very clean, tidy and everything you needed was there. We didn`t have a view, but we were offered an upgrade when we arrived, we decided against this as we were not going to be in the room very much anyway. The hotel is really conveniently situated, close to everything we needed. I would recommend this hotel - we got a last minute deal - it was only £10 more than a travel lodge and more than 10 times better. If you want luxury this is the place to go.
What a beautiful hotel staff wonderful, food fantastin, Location "The Best",Would certainly love to return to this Hotel again & again
The room offered was small, the windows had obscured glass except for two small fanlights, the shower was in the bath and the restricted headroom in the shower limited its use. We were not offered another room until the second night.
i booked royal horseguards as part of a birhthday treat for my daughter to visit london, our experience of the hotel was wonderful, concierge assistance was excelent the rooms were wonderful very convenient facilities wonderful , i really would have liked window view but infairness in london the sights were plenty the hotel is so convenient in location to alot of sights and not far from connecting transport would highly recommend it to anyone
The Hotel was of the expected standard, lovely rooms and we were made to feel welcomed. The only disappoint was I had ordered papers, and on the first morning I had the wrong paper delivered. I returned it and it was not replaced. I had to revisit reception to clear the matter up. This may have been a small matter, but with a Hotel of this standard, it`s these small matters may make a difference. The pillows in the bedrooms were not very good. We enjoyed the stay, and the breakfast was excellent.
We stayed at the RH before the refurbishment and it was extremely good, now after the refurb it is even better. My husband loved the tv in the bathroom and the reclining chairs! The room was exceptionally comfortable and we look forward to staying there again. The central location makes it a great place to stay!
The service from the staff could not have been better everyone was etremely polite and very helpful. The room was modern but classic at the same time, the building is beautiful and very centrally located. The quality of the breakfast was very high and again nothing was too much trouble. We have had a wonderful weekend in London and it was helped in no small part by Royal Horseguards Hotel.
Smart hotel, excellent service
We`ve stayed here several times and always find it a very comfortable "base" for London whether on a business trip or a family "doing London" adventure. A great hotel as far as we are concerned.
Although I had booked a twin room the hotel was only able to offer 2 single rooms which was disappointing. In fairness the Hotel did not make any additonal charge
Wedding guests singing/shouting 4am very loudly which again woke us would have been nice to know that was going on when booking along with the building going on next door prevanted a good stay which was a shame as it was a lovley place. Room could have been better and if it would have been the other side we would have enjoyed stay more.
Adjacent to the river Thames, this hotel is stunning.High quality with stunning decor
