Great location for both sight seeing and theatreland. Slow check-in, but were offfered our room 2 hours early, which was great. Hotel very clean and room comfortable. Disappointed that there were no tea and coffee making facitilies, but that is the only complaint. Was worried that there may be noise from the railway but that was unfounded. Would recommend hotel to anyone.
I read the reviews beforehand and was believing the worse but pleasantly surprised. The staff are very helpful and enquired regularly could they help us in any way. Room was well resourced, shower and separate bath. Clean beddinbg and towels. Ideal location. Would return there next time we`re in London and reccommend it to our friends.
What a lovely hotel. In the centre of everything. Room not ready when we arrived so immediate upgrade given. Excellent breakfast. Would certainly stay there again.
The only minus was the fact that on checking in the receptionist had us booked in just for our room but with no breakfast, even though my printed booking deatails specified bed and full English breakfast. This problem was eficiently dealt with at the desk but on arriving at breakfast the next morning we were not on the breakfast list. This was quite embarrassing as we had to wait at the room entrance while the matter was being dealt with. Eventually the problem was sorted out and we enjoyed a tasty breakfast.
The Hotel was fantastic, we had a lovely room, the location was great and the food and service were to a very high standard. We would love to stay at this hotel if we went to London again. Value for money was fantastic.
Reasonable 4 star room facilities with comforable beds & weel adjusted air conditioning on a hot day. Appalling breakfast arrangements crammed into tiny space with long wait to be seated & to be served hot drinks. Cooked breakfast ok but fruit & pastries very poor. Helpful concierge.
I have been to London many times and can honestly say that this Hotel was one of the best I have ever stayed in. The staff were polite, friendly and very efficient. The room was spotless, very tastefully decorated and the beds were very comfortable. The whole ambience was very relaxing and the location was perfect. I will definitely be recommending to all my friends.
The hotel is in a great location for sight seeing and visiting London theatres. The room was OK. typical London 4*. The breakfast was excellent, with a good choice of well cooked food. The only criticism with the room was that the beds were very hard and the windows didn`t keep out all the outside noise from late night revelers and air conditioning units on the roof of the adjacent buildings.
Hotel lovely. Decent size room, comfortable beds. Quiet air conditioning. Staff friendly and helpful. Slept extremely well. The hotel is central and in walking distance to everything. Had a really good weekend break.
This hotel is right outside xxxxx xxxxx station, with3 theatre`s along the strand,a stones throw from trafalgar square, and the millenium wheel. Staff very efficient and friendly, hotel very clean and, this is a grade 2 listed building not long been refurbished inside, decor lovely. Would definatly stay again, as breakfast was fantastic value for money as well.
You wonder as you walk the staircase who has walked it in years gone by. The nice touch of the lit candles on the staircase in the evening. A very comfortable room and bed. the room we had was little worn but was perfectly functional even down to a brolly in the wardrode. Very convenient, straight out of the station and into the front door. Suprisingly quiet considering it is the centre of London and attached to a mainline terminal. Threatreland just around the corner up the Strand. Yes I would stay there again.
Everything one could wish for Location very convenient. The staff extremely attentive, nothing too much trouble, every need catered for.Comfort & cleanliness excellent. The superb breakfast set one up for the day& the pre theatre dinner both beautifully cooked & presented. Overall a great stay and one to be repeated. Can highly recommend a stay at xxxxx xxxxx.
Hotel was ideally situated for the West End and other attractions. Rooms were clean and plenty big enough for a couple of days. Breakfast was enjoyed in the balcony dining room which overlooked the Strand and xxxxx xxxxx. Lovely building with helpful and friendly staff.
The Hotel is really fab - the rooms are reasonably sized, air-conditioned and comforable with a big bathroom! The staff are all exceptionally welcoming and friendly right from check-in where if it is at the appropriate time, a cold glass of champagne tops off the experience. The breakfast is varied and generous and the bar is also a highlight of the stay, Some of London`s most famous attractions - Trafalgar Square, The Strand, Covent Graden, Embankment, Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace and Southbank are only a very short walking distance away from the hotel, with xxxxx xxxxx Station literally next door...couldn`t be better!
We stayed for 4 nights, location is perfect close to all london highlights. Bedroom was fine we had no view but as we were only sleeping there we did not mind. Staff were all very friendly. Have the breakfast it is really good and sets you up for a full day of sightseeing. We will be using this hotel again.
My friend and I stayed here as part of my birthday celebrations. The hotel was clean, the staff were very helpful and our room was of an exceptional high standard. There was plenty of choice for breakfast. I would definately stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who likes to be in the heart of a capital city. Oh yes I thought there may be some noise but there wasn`t at all!
Staff welcoming friendly and helpful. Room comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed the central position.
excellent service room very clean and tidy would rec only down side shower did not work but as only one night had shower in bath so not major crisis.would stay again
Lovely room, excellent breakfast right next door to xxxxx xxxxx Station easy access to all areas also easy walking distance to Leicester Square. Would definately stay again.
We had a really pleasant stay. The hotel is so near everything and the underground is under the hotel, can`t get nearer than that. The staff were just great. Would stay again when in London.
The hotel was well located in xxxxx xxxxx, right above the station, and the staff were very friendly when we checked in.The overal ambience was very calming, and in the evening the ground floor corridors were filled with candles, which was a very nice touch. We had a light lunch of salmon nicoise, which was simply superb. The room was clean and well presented, but let down by two things. Firstly, the shower was not strong enough for this standard of hotel, and the bed was a standard double, and even most budget hotels now offer queen size at the standard rate (we stayed in a `deluxe` room).Breakfast was a bit of a shambles as they had put far too many tables in the room and it was difficult to sit down without disturbing the people in adjoining tables.Overal, however, it was a good experience.
This hotel was one of the best we have stayed in. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming and the room was well appointed and clean. Breakfast was excellent and set us up for the days site seeing. The hotel is situated in a central positon and therefore in easy walking distance for many attractions. I would not hesitate to recomend this hotel to family and friends and will certainly book again on my next visit to London.
Couldn`t beat this location for visiting so many A* tourist spots - many within walking distance. Hotel comfortable. Offered an upgrade to a junior suite on arrival which we took for £35. Suite in main building; comfortable with bathroom as big as bedroom. Bed very comfortable. Shower proved to be a mystery to me so plumped for nice, deep bath. Hotel lit up by candles in evening which is a lovely touch. Breakfast OK although room overlooking Strand compact and there was a small queue. We were lucky enough to have a window seat. Everything fine and functional - although never discovered any toast or toast making equipment! All in all a comfortable stay and good value for money.
Loved this hotel - the staff were amazing - nothing was too much trouble and they looked after our every reqeust. Our room was spotless and very quiet, the food was lovely and walking through the hotel in early evening through a corridor of lit candles was a lovely experience. I would recomment this hotel to anyone and we would certainly stay again when visiting London.
The xxxxx xxxxx Hotel is wonderfully located, Trafalgar Square - 3 mins, Covent Garden - 3 mins, Leicester Square and theatres 4 mins. The hotel offers every courtesy, the rooms are spotlessly clean and not cramped. The staff are very accommodating, we only stayed overnight, but now we know where we`ll stay when we want a longer visit. Thank you very much.
The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the major sights on foot. The staff are very helpful and there is a friendly atmosphere. My friends have all been told about it and I will certainly return again.
Very good hotel, very central for everything. Embankment tube station is a 2 min walk. Boats down the Thames are a 5 min walk. Trafalgar sq is a 2 min walk. Rooms were clean and staff were friendly. My only complaint is that we booked a twin room so they gave us a junior suite which was spacious but the sofa bed was terrible!!! My friend and I just shared the King bed instead. Other than that I would def recommend!
Arrived early to be greeted by a very friendly staff member who couldn`t do enough for us, the room was available which was an added bonus. The rooms were of a good standard and clean and all staff friendly. We didn`t use any of the other facilities as we were out at events all day and evening although the bar was open 24 hours and the breakfast had plently of choice. would definately stay again as its a stones throw from Trafalgar Sq and minutes to Covent Garden
The Hotel was excellent. Fridge, tea making, also many more good things. The disabled room was VG. The staff were marvellous. The breakfast were excellent. There are plenty of good shops around, the hotel. We certainly would stay again.
Due to previous comments read I had a good idea which hotel we would be staying in as we had stayed there before! It was ideally situated for exploring the city and was within a 10 minute walk to the theatre. Breakfast was lovely, though I would have liked a more varied choice of cereal, but that`s just me being awkward! Would definately stay again.
we arrived late afternoon,my wife and I, also my mother-in-law, by tube which is underneath the building,(xxxxx xxxxx).on allocation of our rooms ,our room was found to be a little small ,this was changed immediately to a better one,the reason we booked this hotel was that it did breakfast, and we were not dissappointed as it was excellent Buffet style, but most importantly it was piping hot,the building itself is steeped in history, and the architecture I found was stunning ,a very enjoyable stay.being central 10 minutes walk to the London eye, which we did with a cruise (must do) great!!,plenty of local reasonable places to eat at good prices, we actually used the same one for the 3 nights we stayed as it was very good.a totally enjoyable stay and the staff were very polite and helpful, would not consider anywhere else next time we would definately re- book this hotel...
