lovely hotel, although our roo mwas more 4 star than 5, felt we had the cheaper option because of our deal, the room was certainly not 5 star standard, clean with very comfy beds. just a bit of a disappointment.still enjoyed our stay though and would stay there again.
A great location, pleasant welcoming staff. Some of the decor within the rooms was a bit tired. Room sizes were similar to a very much cheaper hotel at another central London location. However as a launch pad for shopping expeditions this was unmatched.
Standard rooms are small in size but adequate. Morning newspapers ordered were not delivered. Only two lifts available and one was out of action meaning a long wait or a long walk. Room service not available because of this. Facilities may warrant 5 stars but would rate it 4 stars when comparred to others in the area.
Also bar closed at 1am, we got back to hotel at 1.10am from the O2 and could not relax and have a drink, closed too early. Breakfast was difficult ordered breakfast and nearly all our breakfasts came out wrong.
From the car door being opened on arrival to the car being delivered back to the hotel front door (without being asked)on check out - everything was perfect...
A bit odd that there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. You had to call room service and order at a cost for this. Not something I would expect in a 5 star
A somewhat disappointing stay well below expectations. Didn`t convey the impression of a 5* hotel. Staff mostly indifferent to the customer. Due to an early start we were in bed at 9.30pm on the first day of our stay. After we fell asleep a maid rang the doorbell (about 9.45pm) asking if she could turn down the sheets! Normally this would have been exciting but I was tired and browned off by the absence of tea & coffee supply! The only high point was the restaurant and it`s staff which gets full marks and a genuine 5 stars.
Perfectly judged service and facilities. English breakfast of excellent quality. Have already recommended to friends and family.
the location of the hotel is simply ideal: right in the middle of Mayfair. The room I had was clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly, the cocktails at the "Polo" bar are excellent, the breakfast is good... I definitely recommand it.
Great Hotel tucked away at corner of New Bond Street by Bruton St, very close to Oxford St and Berkeley Sq and Piccadilly, we were lucky enough to get upgraded to a King Size room, I always ask and I think when Hotels do this it is great for them since it will want me to come back, The staff are great everyone cleaners, receptionists, waiting staff always greet you, is the little things like this that make your stay great. The only negative is that they don`t have any Tea Coffee making but you can ask them to bring this. Overall great Hotel and recommended highly.
Room keys didnt work on check in, or later that evening or the morning after. Both keys held by different people.Room small even after paying £20 on arrival for apgrade.Lovely view of a mountain of rubbish out of the window.Average Breakfast buffet, again not 5 star by any means.Nice location, good staff but overall an Under-Whelming Experience, didnt fell like 5 Star we wont be coming back.
Lovely hotel, nice facilities, comfortable, convienenient to all the main attractions. Superb breakfast, nice service. Great for special treat.
We found it difficult to find the hotel as details suggested it was on Bond St however the entrance was on Conduit Street. The room was spacious and bed very comfortable but bathroom a little cramped. We needed to leave later than the planned 12.00 checkout time and were offered an extra hour free of charge which was nice.
Friendly and helpful staff and we were upgraded when we arrived. A wonderful choice of food for breakfast and a nice light room. Right in the heart of the shopping area with Bond street, Carnaby street,Oxford street and Regent street within a few hundred yards. Air-conditioning could have been a bit cooler but on the whole a very nice place to stay and will be booking again for next time
Its the second time i have stayed at this hotel and found it very good although a little bit noisy from outsised and from the next room as there was an ajoining door in our room. I would stay again but ask for a room at the front of the hotel. Breakfast and dinner was wonderful but i found £5 for a coffee a bit unnessary.
Staff attentive and polite but not overbearing. There is scope for improving the `outside the hotel room` ambience but everything else ticks all the boxes and we will stay at The xxxxx again.
The hotel was definitely what I would describe as old world luxury rather than your typical 5 star modern hotel. The room was ok although we did have to be moved as they gave us a double bed instead of a twin. I have stayed in lesser star hotels though and had a much nicer room. The bathroom was dated and the mahoganay cabinet was stained from water on top. We also had no tea/coffee facilities and had to ask for another robe as strangely, they only give 1 for a room for 2 people. The breakfast was excellent although the dining room is small and we had to wait for 15 mins to be seated on Sunday morning because it was too busy. Table service for cooked breakfast and the quality of the food was really excellent.
You can`t beat the location but a 5* it is not! Staff were surly, 20 minute wait to be seated for breakfast, no tea & coffee facilities in the room, no body lotion or conditioner either. Hotel decor is looking a bit tired but the beds were incredibly comfortable.
Fab hotel, great location and the room upgrade was an unexpected bonus....... Thanks x
Room well decorated - compact and bijou! Only let down was breakfast, which was cold when served - replaced within minutes of complaining - piping hot! Staff all friendly, nothing was too much bother - very helpful concierge when needing directions to places.
FREINLY STAFF GREAT BAR ATMOSPHERE, BEDROOMS SMALL BUT VERY COMFORTABLE
From the moment we arrived to the moment we departed, the service was exceptional. Please convey our thanks to all concerned.
Fantastic hotel,fantastic weekend!
Unfortunately when we arrived at 10 p.m. after travelling for approx. 11 hours we were given keys to a room which we couldn`t get the cases into it was so small. We asked if there had been a mistake and was it a single room (it had a double bed). We were told that this was what we had booked. We were charged £20 per night to upgrade to a bigger room. Not up to 5* standard in our opinion. Would advise everyone to check size of room prior to booking.
very nice but small room for the price. of course this is because it is extremely central. good location but will not be staying here again myself. can get much more for you money not very far from here.
We thought the room was a bit pokey for a 5* hotel. Had to pay extra to have kettle with tea and coffee in the room. The shower was pretty poor and there was only a shower curtain not a proper screen. If you can get a deal at Le Meridien stay there instead - it`s much better quality.
The room was well appointed. Very clean but rather on the small size, as was the bathroom. Cracked tiles didn`t help the effect. All the staff were very helpful and accomodating
