our stay at the Academy Plaza was excellent, pleasant rooms very comfy beds and very pleasant and helpful staff ,food also was very very good in all the venues. we would definitely go there again and recommend it to all my friends. having stayed at Best Western Hotels in other places I would not stay anywhere else, as we have so far never been dissapointed. Brilliant 4*! Very friendly staff; quiet and comfortable rooms; nice breakfast and a brilliant location!

Just spent a weekend at The Academy Plaza Dublin, which has a lot going for it. The staff are excellent & I would have given a `good` rating if it were not for the size of our roon. I swear it defied health & safety laws it was so small. You had just 2 inches to skirt around the bed which was made all the more perilious by the TV being on the wall there so you were in grave danger of knocking your head during the assault course!

overall satisfied. We occupied room 730 for 5 nights and most things were excellent, apart from the bathroom which only had 2 lights and none over the shower cubicle which was quite high to step in and out of and due to the lack of light I tripped on exiting. Restaurant breakfast buffet was very mediocre and only luke warm.

The room was small, clean, avd has a good tv. Coffee and tea were not good - tried one then the other. No prizes for either. The worst thing was the smell and noise of the kitchen extractor fan when I opened the window. Little daylight came in - the light had to be on at all times of day. All in all, I cannot recommend this hotel from this experience.

room size was on the small side but very nice very nice beds and pillows very clean overall a very nice place

Hotel in general was ok but the room was awful. It was down in the basement, had no windows and a knackered tv. The bathroom was like a death trap as there was no shower curtain so the floor was like an ice rink. On the back of the bathroom door there was a staff only sign and door didn`t even shut properly. Oh and it was impossible to get phone signal!! All in all a poor nights sleep, due to the above and a fan that was buzzing all night and we werent able to turn it off either!! I shall not be returning unless some sort of reimbursement is made.

Loved staying at this hotel, did not opt for the breakfast though as i thought 14 euros was a bit steep, especally as you could go down the street and get breakfast for 5.50. The Gym was small but good for what it was, shame there was no sauna or swimming pool but the shower in the room was excellent. The bed was lovely and all rooms have a TV on the wall with 20 good channels (including sports and Sky 1 etc) All in all very pleased would recommend and stay again

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, right in the centre of Dublin, our room was quite small but the bathroom was lovely and spacious and very clean and modern. Although the room was on the small side, we think we had one of the smallest ones in the hotel and it was still absolutely fine for our break. Would recommend 100%.

Stayed here recently for a weekend break...It is a lovely hotel with very helpful staff.. The room was very clean and well decorated,with comfortable beds .It is near the top end of O`Connald Street, about a 15 to 20 minute walk to Temple Bar and Grafton street.

My partner and I ate in the chinease resturaunt on the first evening, in the hotel and the following morning we ate breakfast in the hotel, i have never been so ill!! it totally ruined the rest of our weekend there as we couldnt go out i had to take time of work after the stay here beacuse i was so unwell still when we got back home. it was obviously fod poisoning from either the chinease or breakfast in the morning. such as shame as the hotel was very nice!

we only stayed the one night but we found the hotel excellent and would not hesitate to recommend it to friends.staff were more than helpful we checked in with a very nice man at the desk who couldnt do enough for us, many thanks sorry i did not get your name. one tiny gripe was that the barmaid at the end of the night was very brusque about closing the bar at 5 minutes to 12 while we were told it stayed open until 12.30, when i said that to her she was very curt with me, so no barmaid of the year medal for her. but we will definitely stay gain athe academy plaza. thank you very much.

We found that this hotel was great we only stayed for one night and it was central to everything, we will book this again when we return to Dublin. All staff was great and it was great for the price we could not have asked for any better..

The staff at this hotel were extremely helpful and polite, everything was brand new and very clean. The beds were so comfortable and the safe was free which was brilliant and it was tremendous value for money - I haven`t stayed in a hotel which offers such high class at a reasonable rate in such a long time. Me and my friend really enjoyed our stay and everything is within easy reach, it is just a few strides from the centre of O`Connell Street, it`s a bit of a distance from some of the late night bars but they are all still walkable or a short taxi ride if you`re wearing heels :) - but there are plenty of bars close by too. It was very quiet and we slept really well. Comfort, class and caring with Dublin on your doorstep - what more can I say!!! Thank you for making it possible for me to have such a terrific New Year`s Eve in Dublin!!! :)

I have uprated my rating because the hotel dealt well with our complaint and moved us to the 4th floor to minimise the noise.

A fantastic location within easy access to public transport and main shopping areas. A short stroll to Temple Bar area. An absolute bargain for the money.

Fantastic hotel, would return to stay here. Food in the Abacus Restaurant and breakfast was good. Great location c 20 Euros from airport by taxi. Very clean room, tidy and warm! Only downside was where the TV was located on the wall in room 443!!! Not very good to watch lying on the bed for comfort, would be good to have on a bracket that comes out from the wall. But was not in much to watch TV so only a very small observation / complaint!!! Gym very small but great, helped me run off my several pints of guinness and irish whiskeys consumed over the weekend!!!! Thank you.

This hotel is perfectly situated just off O`connell Street. Whilst a little hard to find the first time we visited, we have always come back to the Academy. Parking is just across the road at ?20 for overnight stay. Hotel is attractive and comfortable with a great buffet breakfast. Shops and bars on the doorstep. Perfect for a weekend break.

The hotel was clean and tidy, room was a little small. The staff were very friendly. I highly recommend the chinese buffet, it was some of the best chinese food Ive ever had. The hotel location is excellent within walking distance of Temple bar, and the tour bus stops right outside. Tea and coffee facilities were a bit naff!! Would defo go back as it was excellent value for money. BE WARNED DUBLIN IS VERY VERY EXPENSIVE!

We arrived 5hrs before we could check-in due to an early flight and were able to leave our bags in the left luggage room so we were really happy. We have a triple room and it was big enough for 3 females. Only problem was the air vent let in a terrible draught and it took a good few hours to heat the room. As it was pouring down outside so we got rather wet during our 5hr wait to check-in. Nevertheless, staff were very friendly. check-in & check-out was speedy and the ladies who service the room were lovely. Would definitely stay here again!

I loved the hotel, the rooms are lovely, the beds very comfortable.excellent central location and very friendly staff. The only fault I can find is our room smelled of smoke,the headboard was really pungent and it was not possible to ignore it. Otherwise I would definitely recommend it.

The staff was helpful. The room was clean but very small (just fitted a double bed with not much space left). There was not enough milk and sugar for tea or coffee. Didnt get asleep until the early hours with the noise of the bar/pub next to the Hotel.
