Location:The hotel is literally round the corner from the Vittorio Emmanuelle metro station so extremely convenient for travel around the city, especially to get back after a tiring day! The reception staff are very welcoming and are extremely helpful.All other members of staff were very polite and friendly. The rooms are clean, tastefully decorated with all the facilities needed for a comfortable break, and of a good size. The breakfast choice is excellent and certainly kept us going until the compulsory ice-cream parlours in the city beckoned dring the afternoon.

This hotel is located close to the main railway station which is great for getting around Rome and to and from the airport. But, the area is a little run down with a high proportion of Indian and Chinese retaurants. The service was excellent from all staff, they appreciated my attempts at speaking Italian and then communicated in very good English.

I chose this hotel as other guests had scored it high, however in my experience this is not a 4 star and would only just make 3. The rooms are quite small and in need of refurb although very clean. This hotel is ok for a short break however if you are travelling alone or are nervous I would not recommed this area as it is on the rundown/seedy side. Overall I was disappointed, the breakfast was mainly continental style with the addition of tough scrambled or boiled eggs. Personally I will return to Rome as it has charm and beauty but this hotel has none and I will stay somewhere else next time.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was very clean and well presented. Breakfast was more than adequate with an excellent choice and variety. We did, however, find dinner slightly disappointing as the menu was less than exciting with few choices, although the quality of the food was very good. One negative point would be the actual directions to find the hotel from the train station. These were quite ambiguous and consequently there was a delay and some stress involved in finding the hotel. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful time and would definitely return and recommend the Ambra Palace.

Friendly staff, excellent service, clean and comfortable room. The area around the hotel is a little run down but quite safe. Perfectly situated for links to the sites and main railway station. Probably the best choice for the area and very good value. Breakfast highly recommended

The room was clean and tidy, bathroom well supplied, however the shower unit might be a little small for the larger person. we will go back.

Good-sized room and bathroom, very clean. Staff friendly and helpful, it cheered us up after late evening arrival to be offered free drink in the bar! Wide variety of breakfast food, good quality. We didn`t get to eat in the restaurant, so no comment on that. Very good value for money. Excellent location, metro station just around the corner. Overall, very good value for money, would definitely go to this hotel again

Very impressed by most aspects of the hotel. Very tastefully decorated, clean and attractive rooms, staff generally extremely friendly. Also, the location may not be glamorous, but it`s so close to the Metro you`ll have no problem whizzing about. Standard of breakfasts very high, the only problem being that on one morning they didn`t have sufficient capacity to house all the guests, leading to queues. That aside, would definitely recommend the hotel both as a base for business and tourism.

Hotel well appointed for getting to and from airport.Spotlessly clean and staff very helpful. Once there it is very easy to get around by Metro or indeed by walking to the main attractions. Not too many restaurants in the neighbourhood but no problem within a 10 minute walk. I have been to Rome half a dozen times and the hotel was right up there. TIP!! Don`t take a taxi to the Airport.Not that it is expensive.But the way they drive car sickness comes free! George Scott

The reception offered very useful information and gave us a map on arrival. Breakfast was not as expected as a full English was offered which turned out to be bacon, scrambled eggs and mushrooms!

We found Ambra Palace a pleasant hotel with nice facilities, and ideally situated near to the Metro service. The breakfast provided was very good, however the standard of the food we ordered via room service was not good at all, considering the price of it! Also there was very little available from the menu provided. Nevertheless a good hotel, I would just advise getting your main meals elsewhere. The staff were friendly and helpful.

staff exceptionally helpful and enthusiastic. Rooms and bathrooms stylish and a good size. Lovely breakfast room and hotel recommended nearby restaurant for eve meal. Near metro so very good for sightseeing. Hotel also very efficient at arranging taxis, suggesting routes etc. Was disappointed to have been double booked and put in a different hotel for one of two nights booked.

Good location, staff were the best feature of the hotel. Rooms were a good size, and the requested baby cot was ready on our arrival.
