A lovely cool haven in a bustling city. Take advantage of the Limousine service they offer. The driver who took us back to Ciampino Airport was informative and enthusiastic about his home city. Wished we had taken this service on the way in, but the directions where very good.

We found the hotel very clean, very friendly and very close to many of the sights. The Metro was only yards away.The room was small but very charming - nothing but the best of furniture and bedding. The breakfast was the best we have had in a big city so top marks to River Palace from Pat & Geo Falconer - September 2008

great location, 2 mins from metro & open top bus tour stop. Most key sites within walking distance. Beware room size - we booked a standard double, which we upgraded as it was very small & lacked space to get ready in comfort - upgrade cost us 25 euro per night to what we would call a standard size room, Decoration good in rooms & cleanliness to a very high standard. Note hotel directions is not quite right on this website - you need to go beyond the second turn a sth ehotel is in the 3rd block - otherwise directions are ok.

Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful room and view onto the terrace.Delicous fresh food and a variety of interesting and well cooked and presented food to eat for breakfast. Divine Chocolates! Close to a variety of good restaurants that were very reasonably priced.A short walk to many of the main tourist spots.I would recommend it to everyone.

In addition to our "headline comments" we would just like to add the following comments. We thought the hotel was good value for money and would go there again/recommend friends to go there.Our room was on the small side but we expected that and we were more than happy with the overall cleanliness and facilities and comfort. The only slight drawback we found during our stay was the lack of tea-making facilities in the room

The room we had was quite small but very well decorated. Having the bed covers turned whilst we were out, with chocolates left on the pillow and a card telling you of tomorrow`s weather was an excellent touch. The lifts were very small, however better than none at all! Breakfast was excellent! We would definately stay there again as it was a great location and we were able to get a tour bus at the end of the road.

Lovely decorations, nice and clean and very good location. Breakfast was good apart from the very synthetic and overly sweet `fruit juices` - which was essentially fruit essence watered down. Disappointing in a four star hotel. Service was friendly although one guy on check-in seemed not quite `with it` andthis was confirmed when our restaurant booking that evening hadn`t been done. Nice hotel and would stay again - but note quite great

The air conditioned rooms are very compact but decorated and furnished to a very high standard. The ensuite has no bath but otherwise is deluxe. All the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful (and English speaking) and the breakfast was spot on with hot and extensive cold tables. There was no restaurant and the outside patio area was not available, nice bar and lounge though. Good location at the top of the Via Del Corso.

The hotel is well-placed for visiting many attractions, without being in the middle of the tourist circus. It`s very comfortable, with good bathrooms and excellent food. The service was courteous without being sycophantic. Lounge area pleasant but music a bit intrusive. Smallish rooms but this is Rome.Delightful.

The rooms are very small. The standard room was far too small and the upgrade cost us more money and still a little small with not much closet space. The rooms although clean and well made up are very small and this could be the only reason why I might not return but the rest of the hotel was lovely.

Great location - within walking/metro distance of every historical site. Accommodation and service was first class. Rooms small but very tastefully decorated. Would highly recommend this hotel.

River Palace Hotel exceeded our expectations, and we would happily use the hotel again, if we are ever back in Rome.

Room was fine. Breakfast was good. Staff were very polite and accommodating. Lift was a bit small from 1st floor up.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel was lovely and clean in a really convienient location, near the metro and in walking distance of most sights. Before I booked this I read the previous comments about the size of the rooms, however, although the bathroom was really small the room wasnt uncomfortably small at all. I would definately go back and really recommend this hotel.

We love this hotel for its superb location and very friendly & helpful staff. It is ideally situated for the Borghese Park, the Spanish Steps & Trevi Fountain. The continental breakfast is very comprehensive. The only thing that prevents us giving this hotel an overall excellent rating is the size of the standard rooms. However, they are clean and comprehensively equipped & appointed. We would definitely retrun to this hotel the next time we travel to Rome.

Nice hotel. Rooms clean and well furnished. Staff very helpfull and friendly. Good area within walking distance of most of the sites. We had a meal in the hotel the first night we stayed and were very dissapointed certainly the worst meal we had during our week in Italy. Give the restaurant a miss and youll have a great stay.

Hotel room small, but looked after very well.

the hotel is situated in an excellent position for sightseeing. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. However, the room was extremely small and the air conditioning was blowing out hot air, making the room extremely uncomfortable. The staff were unable to help as they said it was a design fault. Hence several sleepless nights and will not stay there again.

This is a very nice hotel in a good location for seeing the sights. But the rooms are too small for the money we paid.

We enjoyed a seven night stay with excellent service from all the staff. We would have liked a bath as well as a shower and found circulation space limited in bedroom and bathroom.Our room was noisy as it faced the main road but location was excellent.We did not try the restaurant or room service but breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

The hotel was very comfortable, clean and well maintained and the staff extremely helpful, pleasant and friendly.

A Very good quality 4 star hotel, well maintained , clean and comfortable, the price of food and beverages were in keeping with restaurants and bars around the main historic cites. we would recommend this hotel to friends and colleagues

Our short stay at the hotel was very enjoyable. All the staff were very polite, spoke excellent english and were very helpful with any queries that we had. Their recommendation of a restaurant for dinner was very good and they helped with reserving a table (an important consideration for a Saturday night in Rome). We found the hotel to be well located. Everthing was in reasonable walking distance - and walking is definitely the way to enjoy this city - but the hotel was in a sufficiently quiet area to not be disturbed at night. Will stay again......

THE HOTEL WAS IN A GREAT POSITION FOR EVERYTHING. THE STAFF WERE PLEASANT,ESPECAILLY THE BAR STAFF. THE DECOR WAS EXCELLENT AND THE RESTAURANT SERVED BEUTIFULL FOOD. ALL ROOMS WERE SPOTLESS AND CLEANED EVERY DAY. MY ONLY TIP IS TO GO FOR A BIGGER ROOM THEN THE STANDARD DOUBLE ESPECIALLY IF YOU DO NOT LIKE INCLOSED ROOMS

Very friendly, informed and efficient staff. All will bend over backwards to make your stay enjoyable. Was able to walk to many of the attractions even the Colosseum (although you will need comfy shoes for that stroll). Very close to the shopping area, if thats your bag. Only things which let the hotel down was the small size of the rooms and that our room had a shower only and not a bath. One thing to note - the flat fee to the hotel from Ciampino airport does not apply - its just outside of the old wall - so don`t get ripped off by the taxi driver like we did.
