Standard room maybe slightly small, excellent bathroom, overall excellent.
lovely hotel. excellent location and the staff were very friendly and very helpful.
Well appointed rooms, clean. Helpful, pleasant staff. Breakfast good but cooked English - average. All staff in hotel were pleasant, helpful and efficient.
I chose this hotel because I wanted to be near Hyde Park for an event I was attending. The staff were all first class and the facilities were excellent. We had lovely food at the brasserie and breakfast was a treat with much to choose from and super service from the staff. The hotel is very close to Queensway tube station and it`s possible to get to many tourist places very easily indeed. Also handy if you are attending anything at the Albert Hall, which is a short walk across the park. I will definitely use this hotel again.
The staff were all courteous and helpful at all times. On departure we were able to leaves our bags so that we could enjoy our day, most efficient
The hotel is ok. The room was quite small as was the bathroom. I noticed very small fleas or dust mites in the room but more on the bathroom (4-5) crawling around on the tiles near the sink and in the room on the cabinet where the tea/coffee is kept. The air conditioning was quite noisy and when switched off the room became very hot very quickly. On the plus side the room had large mirrors and 8 plug points if u plan to use a lot of electricals!
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel was very clean & great location & staff were really nice. However ther noise in our room was unberable. All day on friday there were building works going on & we were woken up by the same noises on Saturday morning at 8 (!!!) am. This was a nasty shock as there was no way that we could get back to sleep. When complaining to the receptuon we were advised to ask for a discounted rate however no one aproached us to see if the noice has stopped or to sort the discounted rate our. That was very dissapointing. Huge compliment to the conciearge guys...extremely pleasant & helpful.
stayed in a newly renovated room for a very reasonable price just across the road from Hyde Park. would definately stay again if in the area
All i can say is that all the members of staff were friendly and very helpful, without being over bareing. Would recommend the hotel to friends and will stay there again.
This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel but giving a hotel a makeover doesn`t make it 4 star. Clearly a lot of money has been spent; the room and all the public areas were very smart and new-looking. Unfortunately the double room was so small they couldn`t fit a desk in it and had put in a small bar table and two chairs. These had to be moved aside to get in one side of the bed. The wardrobe was tiny, had no door (because of lack of space I think) and was right beside the bed. There was no iron. There was a cupboard under the TV marked "minibar" but there was no minibar in it. Staff were friendly although with very poor English in some cases. With a better room this would have been a cut above the unbranded 3 star hotels in Bayswater.
I am always annoyed when I find that service charges are added to the account .
friendly helpful staff. lovely decor but room very small
We really enjoyed our stay. Well situated on tube line, Clean and well refurbished. Friendly and efficient staff. We enjoyed our breakfast. No complaints. We wished we could have stayed longer!!
Initially put in Rms 917 and 921 -the noise from the adjacent flag pole was considerable and would have kept us awake all night. We requested a move which was organised to the 6th floor which dealt with the problem The rooms however were not as pleasant and we assume are awaiting renovation. There was a used towel in the bathroom. Generally we had a good stay and the staff at reception were excellent. In the Brasserie the staff need to watch out for customers needs, eg needing more coffee.
Good location and room very nice and spacious (though some are a bit small and we upgraded fpr a minimal fee)
we checked in,went up to our room,it was so small, and very grubby, not clean at all,so we asked to be upgraded, and pay extra £60,we then went to our room,it was a double room we booked for,we went in to our second room,it was two single beds,we had to go back down to reception again,we then got our third room ,the bed was awful,it was like sleeping on the floor.so hard.the pillows were disgusting, nothing looked clean,we were woken up at 7am in the morning, with banging noices, and drilling, very loud,we called down to reception,to complain, the noice still carried on for over 2 hours!! we then went back to reception to complain,we asked for another room,we then got our fourth room, all this having to change rooms,we came away for a break, wont stay here again, wouldnt recomend this hotel to anyone. !!
Was offered the upgrade for £20. I recieved a view of the park which was nice and they managed to push 2 single beds together which was a let down. Also the shower head dripped all night (but that wouldn`t put me off going back). I raised my point about the beds being pushed together as it made for an uncomfortable sleep and my £20 upgrade fee was refunded.
Hotel room was good and no problems. altho there were a few things that let the hotel down as a whole. During the stay there was renovations altho this wasnt much of an issue as it wasn`t very loud and stopped during the night, so not a major issue. however there was some staffing issues as we had difficulties with some staff not being able to understand english or having fragmented english, especially in the restaurant which let the hotel down as a whole. hotel concierge was very helpful though and would do anything they could to help. good hotel apart from some staffing issues
This hotel was certainly not a 4 star hotel. I booked a twin bedded room which was small and the bathroom was tiny. Though there was ? double glazing the noise of the traffic was constant all night. There was no mention of renovations and I certainly would not recommend it to anyone going to London. The reception area and the lifts were disgraceful and there was an unplesant smell on hte corridor to the bedrooms. I would suggest that the star rating be adjusted as this hotel is not 4 star.
It was a pity the hotel was under refurbishment. You did the best you could but the front door was a being open on the street with no one watching it was a bit tricky. Our bathroom window needed attention and the tiles needed regrouting but it certainly wasn`t bad - just a bit tired. The bed was comfy and big. One lift was new, one was old, and one was being worked on.
Had to ask to change room because first allocated a room smelling of smoke. Second room recently refurbished & very nice, except the aircon control was jammed - ON at 16C very cold night! Queue for Sunday morning breakfast. I hope they get it sorted.
Our Bathroom was grotty - sink chipped, tiles falling off side of bath and mouldy grouting. Bedroom ok, but hotel is on a noisy main road, traffic noise most of the time, good views over hyde park though. Breakfast was overpriced and not that special, will probably not return to this hotel again
No problems with room, just booking. Somewhere along the line our dates were mixed up - our booking confirmation showed correct dates but suspect human error their side, no apology at all. Very clean and comfortable. All night store next door very handy. One reception staff member smug and particularly unhelpful but other staff lovely.
My overall experience of the show and hotel was VERY good Would do it again Thank you
We had paid for our room in full on the internet and called the hotel on the day of arrival to tell them that we would be arriving after midnight. When we got there they had given our room away. At a very late hour we had to wait to be transferred to another hotel.
The room was much as expected - comfortable, smart and clean. The staff was were very amenable and the location was excellent and very easily accessible with only a 2 minute walk to the nearest tube station. The only one small downside was the traffic noise but then you are going to get that from any hotel on Bayswater Road and this hotel was chosen specifically because it was on Bayswater Road, close to Hyde Park and the start of the London Moonwalk! Overall, very happy, would stay here again.
Second room had broken door handle but didn`t have the `energy` to report that as well. When just staying for two nights could have done without having to change rooms within an hour of arriving. However, overall it was a good stay. The Concierge was exceptional. Had great knowledge and was just so helpful. Reception staff also good. Our room wasn`t serviced after the first night`s stay which was a bit disappointing and we had to ask for more coffee and milk. It would be better if breakfast was included in the room rate - we didn`t bother with breakfast but would have done had it been included. Hotels always provide shampoo but not hair conditioner. Why is that? Also Body Lotion would have been welcomed as it is meant to be a 4 star hotel. Would go back again though, it was a well located, clean and helpful hotel.
Makes Travelodge look like a palace!
Great location-opposite Kensington gardens, bus stop to Oxford street right outside, Natural History and Victoria and Albert museums within walking distance. Wonderful breakfast and friendly staff. We are definitely going to visit again.
If you find the resurant prices too high, good places just along the road for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
