Initially the hotel was fine, good location and decent standard rooms. Unfortunately at 1 o`clock in the morning on Sunday, we were woken by telephone and told that we had to pack up and move to another hotel - the Cumberland. There was a major water leak in the hotel! Not a pleasant experience in the middle of the night!

Excellent location and very friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately the hotel itself is looking a little tired. Room was comfortable but in need of modernising or redecorating. Didn`t help that they had a burst pipe which flooded reception and closed the bar.

Not all the lifts were functional throughout our visit which made access & egress to/from our room a rather adventurous activity

Very welcoming staff. Was able to get into our room an hour early. Very clean and neat room. Lovely view of the docks. Definitely would recommend.

During our stay there was a major water leak on telnet 1st floor which needed immediate repair. We were on the 2nd floor and were kept awake until 2.30am due to constant excruciating drilling and banging. We spoke to the hotel manager who agreed to refund us for our stay but instructed us to do it through you. Please could you get in touch with the hotel to arrange this refund?

On the whole a welcoming hotel in an excellent location with good level of information and directions given. However we were surprised to be given an adjoining room when so many others were vacant this proved to be problematic as a number of people returned in the early hours of the morning making considerable noise which obviously disrupted our sleep. In addition to this the shower function was extremely poor providing only cold water.

Very impressed with The Tower Hotel, we had a lovely room with a view of Tower Bridge. Room was clean, spacious, well presented. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was clean with good shower! All the staff we encountered were polite, friendly and welcoming. The concierge assisted us with a taxi as it was pouring with rain when we left for the show ( only downside as few mins walk to underground station at each end of journey to show). Taxi cost us £17, took approx 30 mins to get there. We got the underground back which was easy to do. We left our case with concierge on check out so we could grab some lunch and returned for it later. When we left on Saturday there was a small street market outside the hotel with lots of food stalls, unfortunately it was very windy so we did not want to eat outside, but it all looked and smelt amazing. Would definitely recommend this hotel, and hope to return on another occasion.

Amazing stay 6 ******`s from the Farrell`s amazing views of the tower bridge from room539 and I will be booking again g for later this year.. the only down side was blooming freezing cooked breakfast cold eggs beans sausage blooming freezing.. the club lounge could manage hot chicken thighs on just a small pilot light but the breakfast couldn`t stay hot for guests.. but hopefully it is a one off as we have stayed before end of last year and had amazing stay then and hopefully get as good again when we come back later in the year.. Amazing staff on reception who happily up graded us so we could use the club lounge... well worth the extra £40 ... keep up the great service a great stay at a prime location and reasonable price thank you for letting us stay as booked for the wife`s birthday and she loved it

Taxi fare £50 worth every penny as my wife could not handle buses

Really lovely hotel, the room and facilities were excellent, with amazing views of the Bridge and Commodity Quay. Will definitely be going back!

Easy to find, will look to book again soon.

Awesome location lovely clean fresh room. The only negative I have is the room was to warm made our stay a bit uncomfortable.

Lovely room,fantastic view.My only complaint was that we couldn`t turn the heating down on the control box on the wall, stuck on 28 degrees so bit too hot to sleep well, even if window open.

The location and view were stunning added with the beautiful weather however our heating/air con sporadically turned on and off turning our room into a sauna as it was stuck on 28 degrees. Was unbearable. The toilet in our room did not flush and you need a small mortgage to be able to afford a drink at £32 for two! They really need to improve rooms and guests stays.

First of all at around 4.40pm, I contacted concierge on number 31 (phone) to ask for assistance as the air conditioning was not working. I was informed that somebody would be allocated to fix the problem and I was hoping that this would be fixed by the time that I arrived back from the theatre. With the air conditioning still not working, I had to contact reception at around 11pm and ask for further assistance. Thankfully, somebody came to assist and a fan was provided but this was not what I was expecting from a four star hotel. There was also no apology from the member of staff and the response was `you can open the window`. I appreciate that we are still in the winter period but I still expected a better overall service. Further to the above, the shower head directs water onto the ceiling. After my fiancee had stepped out of the shower she slipped on the tiles due to the excess water on the floor.

The air conditioning in the room didn`t work and the decor was in need of updating, however the view from the room was excellent & breakfast was very good value for the price

The location and front of the hotel showed great promise. However when we got to our room I was shocked at the lack of maintenance in our room. The wall paper was scuffed in many areas, and the skirting boards were very dirty looking and in need of a refresh of paint. The bathroom was the most disappointing with limescale build up on the taps and shower head and the grouting in the shower also needed redoing. We decided we would like to stay another night but we went to another hotel because this one had been such a let down. I would question the 4 star rating as I feel that until these very basic maintenance issues are resolved I don`t believe it can claim this. The location was great and had we not have been so disappointed in our room we would have asked to stay another night rather than seeking out another hotel.

Exceptional view of Tower Bridge in room 644. Fantastic location to explore London. Can also see the ?Walkie Talkie? building. Extremely disappointed that breakfast was not included in the price.

Nice hotel in a great location and we got a room with a view of the bridge, result! The room was a little tired though with a cracked sink and the aircon/heating not working although very warm, we had to open the window at night to cool down. Staff were friendly. Tried to have afternoon tea without a booking but was told they were full, I counted 12 empty tables and outside the restaurant there were loads of tables we could sit at but that was not an option, shame. A decent hotel but other than the location and view it was quite average.

This hotel did not meet any of our expectations,which was surprising . We will not be staying there again .

Lovely location however the room we stayed in 665 could do with a revamp,broken tiles in the bathroom,rusty bathroom furniture however it was clean and well equipped

Hotel foyer nice but goes down hill after that. Tiny room barely fit a double bed in it. Bodged repairs in room. Air con unable to work out what the numbers mean. Trolleys left in corridor all day. Room not made up til after 3pm. If you want to use the stairs instead if the lift you have to walk through the maintenance areas. Not a good experience.

Very good stay - very efficient check-in and room was ready at 11am - rooms clean and the view from our room was looking over St Kathryn`s dock - step out the front foyer and magnificent views of a tower Bridge! All in all a great stay!

Lovely though no bar open during the day, not a major problem as lots around but handy if in your hotel.

The hotels location was amazing and only a short 5 minute walk away from the closest tube station. However, our stay seemed to be very noisy as our room (208) seemed to be right next to a fire exit. Well, this fire exit seemed to be used by the staff every 5 minutes which seemed to be where all of the office workers go into work. Which they started at 8 o`clock in the morning. You would constantly hear doors banging which was not ideal for a hotel that you pay so much money for and have high expectations. The shower seemed to take an awful long time to warm up, no matter how long you played with the shower hose knob to get the right temperature. When we first arrived we had to muck around and play with the wires to try and get a visible TV connection. The bath is also a very small size. Other than these problems we had a lovely stay, but it would have been much better if we heard no doors banging at 8 am or be placed in another room a few doors along the corridor in the hotel.

Nice hotel, great location but significant problems with the room. The air conditioning did not work and as a result the room was stiflingly hot and stuffy. It was impossible to open the "complimentary" bottled water (and it looked as though several previous attempts had been made by previous occupants of the room) and the hot water tap on the bath didn`t work. Such a shame as the location was great, the entrance lobby impressive and the staff friendly and professional.
