would recommend your hotel to any wanting a relaxing enjoyable break in london . the staff was so helpful, friendly and really made our break in london a wonderful experience .thank you
I`ve stayed in many hotels and this tops the lot. The room was great, well equipped and everything worked (I just remembered that more milks with the tea tray would have been appreciated). The breakfast room and service from the staff was superb. The gentlemen on the breakfast front desk gave excellent service. Ringing the bell for the chef to come out to cook an egg for me was a really nice touch. All the staff were patient, attentive and clearly there to make our short stay enjoyable. If I win the lottery, this is where I`d like to live! Well done and thanks. Happy New Year.
We have stayed many times at the Rubens Hotel, also for Christmas a few years ago where we entertained our family. My stay this time was very disapointing,we had lunch on arrival, tea luke warm,. sandwiches stale, room adequate, bathroom not spotless. I would certainly choose a different hotel for my next stay in London.
Very happy with our stay in Rubens at the Palace. A very convenient location (3 minutes walk from Victoria Station), a very comfortable bed and one of the finest breakfasts I`ve had in hotel in these parts. Maybe the room was a little on the small size (and mightn`t suit the larger people among us) but it posed no problem to us. Overall, very good indeed.
The location and dervice was exceptional however our first room offered was basicallly a single with a 3/4 bed for dwarfs, the second room we had to accept was a long thin room still very small but all we were offered. one night stay max we each had to wait for the other person to dress because of the lack of space.
It`s a loverly Hotel, good food, clean, nice feeling about the place in a great location. Will definately use again
We chose the Rubens after reading reviews on TripAdviser. We loved it! Our room was really big for London and the bed fantastic. Yes the floorboards squeaked but that all adds to its quaintness. Service was superb, nothing was too much trouble and breakfast was fantastic.; one of the best breakfasts we have ever had in a hotel.
An enjoyable and comfortable stay My wife and will be back again. Its not just thetop line service and comfortable clean rooms but the food in the buffet bar. We were not able to try the restaurant because we had booked for two evening shows. However I have been to many hotels in my time but can say (trivial that it may seem) that they provide the best breakfast sauage of the lot! The choice of food was nicely varied and waiter service and attention top line. My advice to anyone thinking of a London Hotel is try The Ruebens - bet you won`t find better! No I am not employed by the hotel - just a very happy customer.
From ARRIVAL TO DEPARTURE WE WERE MADE TO FEEL VERY SPECIAL, THE STAFF WERE SO COURTEOUS AND OBLIGING NOTHING TOO MUCH TROUBLE. CANNOT WAIT FOR A RETURN VISIT.
We have stayed in the Barclay and the Savoy and the Hilton and have to say although the corridors of the Rubens need brightning up , we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were among the nicest we have come across, they were efficient and friendly. We ate in the Bar,Library and the carvery. We had an the pre theatre meal in the carvery and it was our least favourite as the food was probably kept warm a little too long, making it look dried out and it tasted so, gravy was tastless. Once again the staff were extrememly good and overall it did not spoil our stay. We would definately return to the Rubens.
The suite was equipped in the bathroom for three but the liquid refreshment arrangements were for two
Hotel is a great location not far from victoria station. Excellent hotel, bedrooms well equiped, but a bit on the small side. Best full english we`ve had to date. The staff are so friendly and helpful, we are definately coming back with the children this time. Well done The Rubens keep up the good work you all do.Once again a big thankyou from the both of us.
Enjoyed our stay overall, but would have liked our rooms together on the same floor as we had to go back and forth from floor 1 to floor 3 to attend to our disabled son in wheelchair mornings and night and it would have been more helpful to be near him.
Floors very squeaky and this transmitted so when person above was moving around it was very noisey. At 0200 hrs this is no fun and stopped sleep. No obvious sign person was doing anything wrong or being delib erately loud. Just a poor floor
We ate in the Hotel Restaurant on Friday Evening 30/10/09, the food and service was excellent, All staff throughout our stay were friendly and very helpful, nothing was ever too much trouble. I would certainly recommmend this hotel to others.
Lovely hotel. Friendly staff. Good food.
I found the Rubens hotel a mixed blessing. The public rooms are very good and the service is excellent. The bedrooms are however not so good. They are smaller than many similar priced hotels in London and there is insufficient noise proofing. Having to turn on your television just so you can drown out next door`s conversation does help produce a romantic atmosphere. The food in Library was excellent.
We stayed at Rubens for a weekend away with friends. The hotel is excellent nothing is too much trouble, the staff are all extremely knowledgeable not only about their jobs but about everything that London can offer. The room although on the small side is well equipped and tastefuly decorated. The breakfast was a joy and eating in the Library restaurant was a marvellous experience. All in all we can`t wait to go back.
It is not very often that I leave feedback for hotels but on this occassion I was so impressed I thought it was only right that I should do so. The location was good, less than a five minute walk from Victoria station and the accomodation itself was of an extremely high standard. I have stayed at several hotels in London but never have I met such polite, efficient and friendly staff. Not one of them was having a `bad day`. Overall the hotel was excellent and I considered it to be very good value for money, not to be confused with being the cheapest!
The staff and general appearnace was excellent - could not be failted- super breakfast bufet -hotel well positioned for London attractions and access to public transport. Would not hesitate to recommend.
I found the hotel staff very helpfull, the food was very good, the rooms were very nice. I will certainly use the hotel again and would recomend it to my colleagues in fact I already have.
I was also overcharged at the bar when 4 drinks were ordered 5 were charged - not what I expected from a 4 Star hotel in central London. I will certainly look elsewhere in future!
ALL the staff were brilliantly polite and professional and out of their way helpful..the rooms were good size, extremely clean, beds and linens were superb..excellent breakfast buffet..excellent location, walking distance to a multitude of sights...5* definately!!
Suggestion: Appreciate free Internet, but your wi-fi does not work w iphones. Minor nuisance.
Staff first class, perfect access to central London sights, breakfast splendid.
The staff were very friendly and helpful which added to making the stay wonderful. The food was amazing overall a lovely Hotel to stay in .
Stayed at Rubens with my family due to recommendation from many years ago and I was delighted by the whole experience. Staff are very helpful, hotel is well appointed and very clean. Looking forward to our next visit.
The staff added to the ambionce of the hotel and made for a special stay throughout
very helpful
We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. The hotel was very, very clean and the meals were excellent, We would stay again......no problem.
Superb service and some lovely traditional decor let down by very small rooms, although we paid extra for superior ones. Noisy air con units also made rooms difficult to sleep throughout the night. Overall not great value compared with some other London hotels with better rooms at that price.
A fantastic hotel with very helpful staff who were there for our every need. Food was superb, we had the cavery dinner which was excellent. We didn`t want to leave!
