Room was basic but the bed was comfortable
Would highly reccommend this hotel, perfect location to explore Dublin city.
We found the Ashling excellent, staff friendly and helpful, large clean modern rooms,( view not that great though), it was a quiet and perfect place to stay away from the lively town but with easy travel by tram, 5 min walk from hotel for tram stop. Didn`t eat in restaurant except breakfast which was a little expensive but very good. Not much happening in evenings but they have a perfect bar for a quiet drink after being in town.Would stay again if we went to Dublin for another weekend.
One of the best hotels in Dublin, even better if you can get a river Liffey outlook room.
Found Hotel very good, 20 mins walk to City centre,Tram stop 150 yards from Hotel and Bus stop and Train Station just 150 yards from Hotel.Upgraded room to Superior Luxury room for very little extra cost and found same to be excellent value. Food was very good especially breakfast, and last but not least found Staff very helpful and good humored especially Cara at front desk.
A 15 min walk into the town, but 5minute tram journey
The hotel itself scored highly in my opinion except for the food smell which was constantly in my 1st floor room after consutation with front desk staff saying it would be checked out (Maybe it was but was still there the whole weekend)
Enjoyed our stay and found the hotel ideal for access to Dublin centre by tram. It was quiet and very comfortable.
Outstanding hotel where staff were thoughtful, considerate, helpful and friendly. We came for the rugby but will be back to visit Dublin again and will DEFINATELY stay at the AShling. Thank you for making our visit so special.
Just returned from a lovely weekend break at the Ashling. Excellent location across the road from Heuston Station and the efficient tram direct to city centre in 10 mins. Breakfast was excellent and we ate in the hotel bar on first night and the restuarant second night, both brilliant. Staff very friendly and hastle free check in. Would recommend in total confidence.
Beautiful rooms, excellent service,, wonderful breakfast. Over all an excellent hotel!
It is a very handy location. Just acroos the road from Heuston Station with regular trams & buses to the city centre and airport. Although the station is close it not noisy or too busy. There is also a few nice bars, cafes and shops nearby. The rooms are quite spacious and very clean. The rstauarant serves good quality meals to suit most tastes. The bar is very comfortable. The prices are very reasonable, no more costly than the local bars & restaurants pubs. The service isalso good & I would have no hesitation in staying at the hotel on any future visits.
We had a great time at the hotel, everything clean, staff lovely, breakfast brilliant. Our only annoyance was that we were charged different amounts when we purchased drinks from the bar. The order was always the same one guiness and one rose wine but the prices varied depending on who served you. Found it rather frustrating to be charged varying prices depending what till button was pressed for the wine
excellent clean and pleasant bedroom and bathroom, no noise and good nights sleep. Our only fault with the hotel was the breakfast which was quite tastless.
The friendly staff did everything they could for an enjoyable experience. The amenities, breakfast, restaurant and bar were all excellent. I cannot rate this hotel high enough, it was so good. Even to the point that I forgot to pack any disposable razors and they even provided that!. The full breakfast was excellent. The only thing that puzzled me is why the hotel is rated as three star, I think it should be five star. Thank you for such an enjoyable stay.
Prices/Value for the room ... as expected.(Street cars are no noise problem)
This is a good modern hotel. Foyer, dining room and rooms better than they looked on the website. Room good size and very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast very good.Although the hotel is not right in the city centre buses and the dart stop virtually outside the hotel and the airport shuttle stops close by. With the Dublin Bus card we never waited more than a couple of minutes for a bus to or from the city centre.Very good value and convenience
Conveniently situated, very well presented and staff all pleasant. Water not very hot on the first day but things improved after that.
Great rooms, classy bar and restaurant and the most exquisite set menu for the price you will find in Dublin
I stayed for 3 nights in the Ashling Hotel. I found the staff to be really friendly, helpful and had great knowledge of the area around the hotel (which was good for me as I hadn`t a clue how to get around). The tram stop was just up the street from it and it was 4 stops away from Connolly Train station and 2 stops away from Jervis and the main shopping area! The rooms were clean and comfortable. Great hotel, great location, great staff.
Don`t be fooled by the bleak facade. This is a top notch hotel in a great location. Good sized bedrooms, great breakfast and all rooms recently refurbished. We got three nights for the price of two so excellent value as well.
this was the best hotel i could of stayed in, it was very smart and clean, with really nice and helpful staff. the hotel is just a few mins walk to all the best outings. im already planning another trip and staying here again!!!! 5 STARS *****
stayed 2 nights (Aug 09), beautiful hotel, very quiet, staff friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them when asked for directions, etc. Food was delicious, "eat as much as you want" breakfast, excellent !!! Rooms immaculate and spacious, fresh towels daily. Tram runs outside front door, hop on at station about 1 minute`s walk away, very convenient !! In City centre in 5 minutes. Hotel beside Phoenix Park (zoo) and near St Jame`s Gate (Guinness brewery) Would recommend this hotel very highly 10/10
Good location for transport to the City Centre.Peaceful.Very well refurbished.Friendly staff
booked through hotelsdirect, good location, good price, staff were pleasent and helpful.
I would recommend this hotel to all my friends and family. From the moment we arrived and afetr 3 nights stay the staff could not be more helpful. The hotel is newly refurbished and the rooms did not disappoint. The location is a little bit out from the main parts of the city, but easily walked in 20 minutes, or take the tram, which runs right by the hotel, or regular bus service nearby. Even the Airbus to and from the airport was very nearby. Good location for other amenities such as trains, if you want to explore further. Overall excellent.
Excellent position within the city, luas stop and bus station 30 seconds from the front door getting you into the heart of the city within a couple of minutes or you could walk in about 10 minutes. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful, especially good with our 2 year old! Restaurant serving excellent food with good variety, breakfasts brilliant! Rooms very clean and tidy. All in all a really good value hotel giving us a great base for our visit to Dublin.
Really enjoyed my 4 night stay at the ashling hotel, the staff couldnt be more helpful and freindly. We got breakfast included in our rate which was very good and a buffet so u could fill yourself for busy day sightseeing. We also purchased food from the bar snacks menu which was of a high standard. our room was cleaned and towels replaced each day though nt ssure if this happens every day of the week as i was only there 4 days . But if i was to return to dublin id definitly stay at the ashling again as it is also in a very good location with heuston station across the road and a bus stop right outside to catch bus for 5 min journey into city centre.
It is always a bit worrying until you arrive at your hotel as you are not sure what you are going to get but my friend and I were pleasantly surprised at the lovely decor, friendly reception and a view of the Guiness factory from the bedroom window!. We found all the staff friendly, the evening meal was good and live Irish music on out first night was a great welcome. We found it easy to travel in any direction and the Taxi driver is now a friend for life. We will recommend it to our friends and family and will stay there again when we come back to Dublin in the future.
